Description

Delicious BBQ Chicken Flatbread topped with melted cheese and fresh cilantro.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 flatbreads or naan breads
  • 1 ½ cups cooked chicken breast, shredded
  • ½ cup barbecue sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ¼ cup red onion, thinly sliced
  • ¼ cup cilantro, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven – Start by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C). While the oven warms up, line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it. This helps the flatbread crisp up nicely without sticking.
  2. Prepare the chicken mixture – In a medium bowl, combine the shredded chicken with the barbecue sauce. Stir until the chicken is evenly coated. The sweet and smoky aroma of the sauce already hints at the flavor packed into every bite.
  3. Prepare the flatbread base – Place the flatbreads on the baking sheet. Lightly brush each with olive oil. This small step helps create a golden, slightly crisp base once baked.
  4. Add the toppings – Spread a thin layer of barbecue sauce over each flatbread. Then evenly distribute the BBQ chicken mixture across the surface. Sprinkle mozzarella and cheddar cheese generously over the chicken. Add the thinly sliced red onions for a slight bite that balances the sweetness of the sauce.
  5. Bake until golden – Place the tray in the oven and bake for about 10–12 minutes, or until the cheese melts and begins to bubble. The edges of the flatbread should become slightly crisp and golden.
  6. Finish and serve – Remove the BBQ Chicken Flatbread from the oven and sprinkle freshly chopped cilantro on top. Slice into pieces and serve while warm and melty.
