Description

A delicious cheesy beef noodle bake that is easy to prepare and perfect for dinner.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 1/4 cups cottage cheese
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 8 oz egg noodles
  • Chopped parsley, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook egg noodles according to package directions, then drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef with diced onion over medium heat until no longer pink. Drain excess grease.
  4. Add tomato sauce, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning to the beef. Stir to combine and simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. In a medium bowl, mix together sour cream and cottage cheese until well combined.
  6. Add the cooked noodles to the sour cream mixture and stir to coat evenly.
  7. In a 9×13-inch baking dish, layer half the noodle mixture, then half the meat sauce, and sprinkle with half the shredded cheddar. Repeat the layers.
  8. Bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes or until hot and bubbly.
  9. Let it rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.

Notes

  • This dish can be prepared in advance and stored in the refrigerator before baking.
  • For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes or diced jalapeños.
