A delightful relish made with sweet onions, figs, and fresh oranges, perfect for serving with meats or as a flavorful condiment.
Ingredients

- 2 cups sweet onions, finely chopped
- 1 cup dried figs, diced
- 1 cup fresh oranges (about 2), juiced and zested
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Prepare your ingredients by chopping the sweet onions and dicing the figs. Zest and juice the oranges.
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, drizzle olive oil and sauté the onions until golden brown (about 5-7 minutes).
- Add the figs to the pan and cook for another couple of minutes.
- Pour in orange juice and vinegar, then add brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Stir well to combine.
- Bring to a simmer over low heat for about 20-25 minutes until thickened.
- Allow to cool slightly before transferring to jars or serving dishes.
Notes
- This relish can be served warm or cold.
- Store in airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to a week.
